General information: Romania's capital city is home to over 1.8 million people. The University of Bucharest, founded in 1964, is located in the center of the city. About 30,000 people study at the university in a total of 19 faculties. The university has its own museum, which documents the long history of the university. In addition, the university is involved in the "UNESCO International Geopark Ţara Haţegului" project, which combines a unique landscape and great biodiversity with a dinosaur park documenting the traces of the dwarf dinosaurs that lived there during the Cretaceous period.
Study programs and specializations: There is a Bachelor in Psychology - Cognitive Sciences in Romanian and a program of the same name in English. In addition, a wide range of in-depth master's programs in psychology are offered, including Clinical Psychology and Child and Family Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology - Evaluation and Therapeutic Intervention, "Psychodiagnosis, Unifying Experiential Psychotherapy (PEU) and Personal Development," Trauma Psychology - Clinical Evaluation and Therapeutic Intervention, Health Psychology - Clinical Research and Behavioral Optimization, Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management, Psychology of Work, Transportation and Services, Occupational Health and Human Resource Performance, Applied Psychology in National Security, Educational Psychology and Psychological Counseling, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Study schedule: the winter semester begins in early October and ends in early February; exams are given at the end of the semester beginning in mid-January. The summer semester begins in mid-February and lasts until the end of June; exams usually take place at the end of May until the end of June.
Other Information: Erasmus students can attend a free language course in Romanian, for which 6 LP are awarded. The language courses start in October and in February.
